Seasonal Flu Vaccination

The winter vaccination programme has started. If you are eligible for a free flu vaccine, you will get a letter from NHS Scotland. This will either give you an appointment date and time at one of the flu vaccination clinics in Lothian, or instruct you to make an appointment using an online portal.

If you are eligible for a COVID booster, you may get this at the same time as your flu jab, but this is not guaranteed, and you may have to attend two separate appointments.

You will not get your flu or COVID jabs at your GP practice. Please do not contact the surgery about your flu or COVID jab appointments.

If you have received a letter with an appointment that you are unable to attend, you can rearrange your appointment online here.  Alternatively you can call the vaccination helpline on 0800 030 8013 for assistance with re-booking.

If you are housebound, your jabs will be given to you by the housebound team, and they will be in touch to arrange this.

Mental Health

Self Help - There are some self-help booklets (in PDF format) available here on: Anxiety, DepressionStressManaging Mental Health, Relaxation, and a Self-Help Mental Health Reading List.  You can download any of these by just clicking the link.

Self-Assessment: If you are not sure whether you are stressed or anxious or depressed, or how much you are dealing with, why not take a simple on-line test and see for yourself. This is the DASS-42 (click here) and for Depression, Anxiety and Stress you get a Score. There are 42 indicators, and you can also print out your scores. If the scores are high, please consult your GP.

Cramond Counselling Service - The practice has a team of in-house counsellors to provide help and support for people with a range of emotional problems. Referrals to this service are made through your GP.

Other Available Counselling Services – In Edinburgh, there are a fairly wide range of counselling and mental health services. For a list of these, with contact numbers, please click here.
